SUBMISSIONS

ArtMatters encourages submissions from the arts and humanities, sciences, and social sciences focusing on object- and/or technical or material-based research. ArtMatters welcomes both full-length articles and short notes, as well as special issues on relevant themes, projects, or conferences. We will be accepting and publishing papers on a rolling basis. Please see the guidelines below and review the submission guide PDF. Publishing with ArtMatters is completely fee-less. Papers are distributed with a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC) license. By publishing with ArtMatters, authors transfer copyright and assign exclusive rights to the publisher (including commercial rights). â€‹

Submissions must be original research that has not yet been published elsewhere.

Abstract submission

We encourage authors to send a 300-500 word abstract with the corresponding author's name, email address, institutional affiliation, and a 50-word bio to info@amjournal.org. The editorial team will review the abstract promptly and if it fits the scope of the journal we would ask you to follow the below steps to submit your manuscript. Please note that acceptance of the full manuscript will still be subject to peer review.

Article submission

Submit your article as an email attachment or via WeTransfer to info@amjournal.org. As a cover page, please include the name, email address, institutional affiliation of all authors, and an abstract of no more than 200 words as well as 5-10 keywords.

Manuscripts must be in proofread English and submitted as a Microsoft Word document. Full-length articles should be no more than 5,000 words including endnotes and bibliography. Short notes should be no more than 2,500-3,000 words including endnotes and bibliography. Submitted papers are assumed to be in final form and whereas minor text changes will be allowed at the copyediting stage, such changes are not permitted at the page proof stage. Authors should be sure to thoroughly review the ArtMatters/Archetype style and submission guide before submitting.

All ArtMatters papers approved by the editorial team will sent out for anonymous peer review. If accepted, authors will have time for revisions and, if satisfactory, the manuscripts will then be copyedited and formatted for publication (as a PDF) by Archetype Publications. Papers will be published as open-access downloadable PDFs on the ArtMatters site.
